The Week We Thought Would Never Come

Ahhh.... It's finally arrived, moving week! This past month has seemed like a year as we have waited for this next stage to arrive. On Saturday Dave and I spent almost 12 hours doing a final pack, we are living with the bare essentials for the next 3 days. We were so exhausted by the end of the day, but proud of what we had accomplished. This Wednesday we get possession of the new house and have until Friday at noon to empty out this house. We are both facing this move with mixed emotions. We are thrilled with our new house, but sad because this was our first home together and the only home Dawson has known. But, we both agreed that after a few days in the new house those feelings will quickly disappear. So, this will most likely be our last blog for a while as this week is guaranteed to be crazy and then next week we will be with out Internet (how shall I survive:).

24 Weeks!!!

Time is flying by and I'm already at 24 weeks! That pregnancy ticker on the side of our blog is starting to stress me out a little, just seems to be counting down too fast! So how have I been feeling? Really great actually! I have been tired on and off this past month, but the source of my tiredness is due to seasonal allergies more than pregnancy (I look forward to next spring when I can take allergy medication again). I have had an increase in hip and lower back pain, but as long as I avoid heavy lifting and a lot of bending it's pretty bearable. Yep, I'm going to be useless on moving day!

Long Weekend Picnic

On the holiday Monday we met up with some family;my parents, my brother and family,my in-laws, and my sister in-laws parents,(confused yet) at Dry Island Buffalo Jump for a picnic. The weather was beautiful and we all had a great time. Dawson was thrilled to be outside and spent almost the whole time running around after his cousins! We could barely get him to sit down and eat supper!

Andrew and Ryan "fishing"

Dawson took a tumble face first into the mud. Dave's mom says he must get that from his auntie Rachel O.!!
Being a goofball with Ella
Dawson thinks the world of his cousin Ryan and kept asking to hold his hand!

"The Little Beavers"

Here's a clip of Dawson having a great time with his cousins. He seems a little confused when mommy continues to film while Ella pushes him around, bad mommy!

Goodbye Baby, Hello Boy

On Saturday Dawson had his first haircut. I was hesitating getting it cut because I knew he would instantly go from looking like a baby to a little boy. But, his hair was getting very out of control, so I caved! We took him to Beaners, a great hair salon especially for kids. They have a ball pit, movies playing, and an assortment of cool cars and animals for the kids to sit on while they get their hair cut! Sounds fun hey? Well I think the following pictures require little explanation! Here is Dawson's first hair cut.....

"Um you do realize this car is pink guys?"
(he refused to wear the cape, so off went the shirt) Blissfully unaware

After : "what have they done to me?"
Nice new do!!!
Congratulations Dawson you survived!!!

Welcome Home!

Last weekend Dawson and Daddy made a trip to Calgary to pick up Grandma and Grandpa A. from the airport. They were returning from South Korea where they had been visiting Trevor and Rachel.

The Big Cook!

This past Saturday I was really busy! Why you ask? Because I made 150 meals in 1 day!!! Now no worries, this wasn't a case of pregnancy nesting gone crazy, I did it with the help of 5 other friends. The concept came from this great new cookbook called The Big Cook. About a month ago the 5 of us got together and made up a huge grocery list and divided it amongst ourselves. We started on Saturday at about 10:00am and finished just before 5:00pm, each going home with 30 meals for the freezer! Most of the meals provide plenty of left overs, so really it's 60 meals! I would highly recommend doing this with a group of friends, it's fun, saves money because you buy everything in bulk, and it's so great to not have to think about what to make for supper! We are already planning to get together in August for another cook off!
