Dawson and his friends can't get enough of sitting in the toy box.

Dawson and Sophie are only 12 days apart and I think they could pass for twins

Hit And Run :(

This past Sunday we woke up to discover that our dear Rhonda the Honda had fallen victim to a hit and run accident, what a bummer. So with no one to point a finger at, it looks like we are going to have to swallow the cost to get her fixed! It will cost us the $500 deductible, which I know will be only a small amount of what the actual body work will cost, but still I could think of much better things I could spend that money on! What is truly ironic is that this is the third time we have had body work done on this exact part of the car (twice damaged by other vehicles, once by a deer). Each time the car has been damaged Dave says, "Why can't they just take out the bumper too", which really needs to be replaced. Maybe next time, well lets hope that never happens!

Voter Apathy??

I've heard a lot on TV lately about voter apathy, particularly in the youth of our country. But, never did I think that my own child would display such an attitude, especially at such a young age!

The other day I decided I was going to watch the leadership debate on the evening news, because I have no idea who I am going to vote for. So I sat down on the couch and began watching. About ten minutes into the debate Dawson came up to me and gave me a look. This look said "come on mom this show is so lame". He then proceeded to take the remote from me, move to face the TV, and change the channel. Very satisfied he gave me a grin and went over and sat in his little chair. Well, I wasn't too impressed. So I took the remote and switched the channel back. To my surprise this little battle happened three more times, until finally I decided to just turn the TV off!

Thankfully we have a few years to teach him the importance of voting!!!

What a little turkey!!

10 Second Tidy!!

Dawson loves the TV show "The Big Comfy Couch". At the end of each show they play the 10 Second Tidy Song, it's his favorite part of the show! So here's a little clip of Dawson doing the 10 Second Tidy Dance!!

Kids Say The Funniest Things....

Yesturday we received a visit from my brother and his family. When they had left Dave informed me of a conversation he and Ryan had while they were playing upstairs.

Ryan: Uncle Dave why is the computer on?

Dave: Auntie Karalee must have been using it.

Ryan: Is it safe to leave it on all day?

Dave: I think so.

Ryan: Well what was she using it for?

Dave: I don't know.

Ryan: Hmmm... Maybe she was trying to sell you away on Ebay!!!!

Andrew and Rachael you have one hilarious kid! Where does he come up with this stuff?!

All About Me Me....

This blog is for my friend Kim, who tagged me in this little game called MeMe!

To find out what a meme is, click here. This meme asks me to tell you 6 quirky, random or inconsequential facts about myself. The rules for this meme are: (1) Link to the person that tagged you. (2) Post the rules on your blog. (3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. (5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

So here it goes:

1. Any car I have ever owned has been given a name. My first car, a Plymouth Sundance, was named Raymond, because everybody loves Raymond. In fact, the name caught on so well that even members of my extended family would ask me how Raymond was doing, as though he was a real person. My next car a little purple Honda Civic (which we still own) was affectionetly named "Rhonda the Honda". (even Dave calls her that!) Now for any of you wondering, we do not have a name for truck. I guess because techinally it belongs to Dave and men don't name their vehicles!

2. I used to think it would be cool to have a name like Veronica or Tiffany. (must have been watching a lot of Saved By The Bell and reading Archie comics) Looking back now I am grateful my name is Karalee. (no worries mom!)

3. I have a strange fascination with the show "Dog The Bounty Hunter".

4. I used to fear the West Ed Waterpark. When I was a kid I heard a story about someone putting razor blades on the waterslides at West Ed Mall ( I have no idea if this was a factual story). But, to this day I have never visited this water park, partially because this story is still in the back of my mind. (I dont' think I've ever told anyone that) Thankfully this fear doesn't extend to other waterslides, because my son loves them!

5. My dream job would be to sing in an animated disney film!

6. It drives me absolutely crazy when people wear white socks with black dress pants!

So there you have it, my MeMe!! Hopefully I didn't come out sounding too strange.

So to the following people, tag your it!!

Trevor and Rachel

(okay I already broke a rule, I am only listing 2 people. But I really don't know that many people with blogs, so two will have to do)

So What's New??

So what's new with Dawson? Now that he has reached his one year milestone, I haven't really thought to do a monthly update on what he is up to. But, I figured you might be curious, so here it goes!

Mover and a Shaker: He is becoming quite the accomplished walker, still a little clumsy at times, but now prefers it over crawling. Shaker? He has become quite the little dancer. Everytime he hears music he stops what he's doing and begins swaying to the beat!!

So full of questions: His favorite thing to say is "Whatz Dat?" and he asks it constantly, especially if we are out in public.

A full sentence: The other day he said a full sentence: "Dadda, whatz dat?"

Potty Time: He thoroughly enjoys sitting on the potty. We practice a couple times a day. Sometimes he goes, sometimes he doesn't, but were working on it!

Tickle, Tickle: He loves to give tickles! He will often come up to you and tickle your tummy or toes with his fingers, while saying "Ticka, Ticka, Ticka"! He especially likes to tickle little babies, so cute!

A True Andrus: People say that he looks more like me than Dave, which maybe true. But, there is no denying he is his fathers son! He loves anything with wheels, loves looking at the auto trader (no joke), loves to sit on dad's lap and pretend to drive the truck (he will even keep one hand on the wheel and reach down and pretend to shift gears!), and he loves to make engine sounds with his tongue!!
