Let The Festivities Begin!!

I'm finished! The goodies are baked and the presents are wrapped! I have never been more ready for Christmas BREAK. Emphasis on break, because I need it, actually we both need it. This past month Dave has worked crazy hours. Crazy hours for Dave = crazy hours for me. This year more than anything I am looking forward to spending some much needed time with Dave and our extended family. I must admit, I'm looking forward to extra hands to help corral the little guy! I am also excited to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child! So far Dawson has enjoyed being a cookie taste tester and gift wrapper!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

From Generation to Generation

It's something that is passed down from generation to generation (okay while at least through 3 generations), we like to call it Grandpa Wilf hair!

How Quickly Things Change

On Sunday we got together with our couples group from church for our annual Christmas Party! It's amazing how much the dynamics of the party have changed now that there are toddlers running around! The party began at 4:00pm and ended by 7:00pm!!

Decking The Halls And Trimming The Tree!!

Hooray, the house is decorated and the tree is trimmed!! I love Christmas! This weekend Dawson helped us decorate the tree for the very first time. He was fascinated with all the lights and ornaments. But, he did something I never would have guessed he would do when he first had contact with the tree. He pulled on the strand of lights and put the bulb directly into his eye and just stared at it, odd!!

This year the tree has been relegated to the corner, that way only one side can be reached by little fingers. So far the tree has remained mostly intact!!

Ooo what a pretty light

Ouch it hurts when you stick a light bulb in your eye!

Foxall Christmas

Every year on the first Saturday in December, my Grandma Rachar's side of the family gets together for a Christmas celebration. I always look forward to this party and it always gets me in the spirit of the season. As usual we had a great time visiting, eating and exchanging gifts!

Book Worm

Dawson has developed a real love for books! We just got him his very own library card, so he gets to go each week and pick out new books to read, which he finds thrilling.

His favorite person to have read to him is daddy. Now most nights when Dave gets home Dawson heads straight for his stack of books and promptly brings one to daddy to read. Once that one is finished he slides off daddy's lap, grabs another book, and gives it to dad to read more!

Dawson also likes to read to himself. If he wakes up in the middle of the night upset I can calm him down, put him back in bed, and give him a book. He can be heard reading to himself (sometimes for up to a half hour) until he's so exhausted he falls over and goes to sleep!

I hope his love for reading only continues to grow!!

5 More Sleeps!!!

Only 5 more sleeps until Dawson's big birthday bash!!! Today Dawson and I set to work on making a cake for the party. We completed the baking part of the task. The decorating will come in a few days and hopefully the result will be a cake that looks like a puppy dog (I'm crossing my fingers)!

First Snow Fall!!!

Sunday morning we woke up to find that the first snowfall of the season had arrived and left us about an inch of the white stuff all over the ground! Normally, the site of this makes me cringe at the thought of impending winter, but this year I was so excited to show Dawson the snow. So, daddy and Dawson spent about 10 minutes getting all bundled up to go play in the snow. Which was rather humorous because their playtime only lasted about 1 minute. Yep, Dawson is not such a fan of the snow. I think he found it a little too cold, but really isn't that how we all feel!!

Surprise Party!!!

Wow, a post that doesn't involve Dawson, who'd have guess I have a life outside of being a mommy!! Over the last few months my friend Katie and I have been planning a special day to honour our friend Angie for her 30th birthday! The day started with brunch, then an afternoon at the spa, and ended with a dinner that included a bunch of Angie's friends and work colleges! The day was a blast and she was totally surprised!!
