We Wish You A Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas 2007!!! Yep, you read correctly, Merry Christmas! As many of you know from reading our blog, Dave's sister and brother-in-law, have been living in South Korea for the past year. They came back for a few weeks to visit and have now headed back for another year and a half. One of the sad things about living oversees is missing Christmas at home, but not this year. We surprised them with Christmas in August. We had a big dinner, complete with turkey (okay it was a huge hutterite chicken!), stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and eggnog. We opened stockings under the tree and watched Charlie Brown's Christmas!! It was proof that a big part of Christmas is spending time with loved ones, because it felt just like it was the real thing!

Steven received hair growth serum from Becky, next summer when he comes to visit we expect a full beard!
Our table, complete with Christmas poppers (can't believe Costco is already selling them)

Dawson enjoying his "First Christmas" (okay it's his second, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't remember it)!!!

Family Pictures

A few weeks ago, Dave's family decided it would be fun to take some family pictures while Trevor and Rachel are home. We took these pictures at Coronation Park in Red Deer with Ray and Trev's fancy, smancy new camera. I also recently got Adobe Photoshop on my computer, so I had fun playing around with some of the pictures!

A Walk Down Memory Lane

This past weekend was my 10 year high school reunion, hard to believe that it has already been that long! My 3 years at Prairie High were some of the best years of my life and I was so excited to see everyone. A classmate of mines parent's own property of Pine Lake, so we met there for a camp out. I loved that we were able to pick up where we left off, that we got to laugh together again, that our kids got to meet each other and that people really haven't changed that much!! I'm already looking forward to the 20 year reunion! PHS Class of 1997 (some of us at least)

9 Months Old!

Hard to believe, but the weeks have flown by and Dawson is now 9 months old!! In less than 3 months he will be tasting birthday cake for the very first time! Here are some highlights from the past month.

Weight: 18lbs, 5oz
Height: 27 1/2"
Newest tricks: Crawling, pulling himself into a standing position, standing in his crib, and opening the screen door of the patio.
Favorite Toys: He loves everything that he's not suppose to play with!
Little Explorer: With his new found mobility he loves to explore different areas of the house, even more fun is visiting someones house.
Little Boy: He is such a little boy now, which we find very exciting. I find I don't even miss him as a little baby, because he is so much fun right now. Perhaps it's also because I know I will most likely have another baby to hold at some point.
New Smile: He has developed a new smile! He will look at you and crack a smile so big he scrunches his eyes completely shut, so cute!
Favorite Foods: Finally he has become a fan of textured food and is learning to feed himself.
Tooth: After months of agony he finally cut his first tooth!

Camping Trip

This past weekend we took Dawson camping for the very first time. We, along with some of Dave's family camped at Two O'Clock Creek, which is west of Nordegg. Dawson loved being in the great outdoors, especially hiking, he talked and sang all the way up the trail! The only part that he didn't enjoy was sleeping in a tent, he hated it. I think we have had our fill of camping for this year, perhaps we will be brave enough to try again next summer when he is a bit older!

Hiking up to Siffler Falls....

The Bear Cave

Every little boy needs a fort and Dawson is no different! Ever since he has started crawling his excersaucer has become less and less appealing (at least playing in it as it was originally intended). Now he would much rather hang out underneath it. He will crawl in until he gets to a point where he can sit up and then he just sits enjoying the privacy of his "Bear Cave", as well like to call it.
