Kids Say The Craziest Things.....
Our boys have all been very entertaining as of late, here's just a few examples.....
Big D:
D: Mom, can you go on Youtube and type in how to tie your shoes?
Mom: Why do you want me to do that?
D: Because I want to learn how to tie my shoes and that's how you do it.
Mom: Well when I was a kid I didn't have Youtube to teach me that.
D: What did you use, google?
Mom: No my parents taught me
D: Really?
(hilarious, but a little scary to think how much technology has influenced our kids)
_________
Middle C:
C: Mom do heights exist in real life?
Mom: Yes they do honey.
C: Oh, well I'm pretty sure I'm scared of them.
Mom: What are heights?
C: I think they are a kind of spider!

Little N:
Lately he's been coming up with the most interesting ways to tell me he is awake from his nap.
N: Knock, Knock (shouting from his crib)
Mom: Who's there?
N: Poopy
Mom: Poopy who?
N: Poopy stinky!
(and it most definitely was)
N: Cock-a-doodle-doo, cock-a-doodle-doo
Mom: Are you ready to get out of bed (I proceed to go to his room to get him out of his crib)
N: Cock-a-doodle-doo, good morning chicken mommy!

Just Like Mom
Tonight, after tucking the big boys into bed, I headed downstairs to get the littlest one. The house was unusually quiet, except for his sweet little voice singing over and over a Mr. Rogers song, "Peace and quiet, peace, peace, peace." He must love bedtime as much as mommy does. The one year old stage is definitely one of my favorites!

Operation Organization: Part 1
As some of you might remember in one of my earlier posts, I made a new years resolution to become more organized. It has been a VERY slow process (I started in January and am not close to finishing my goal) but slowly I'm getting there! The two areas I wanted to focus on where to streamline our family's daily routine and organize our closets. Here are a few snapshots of our progress.
This September we entered into a whole new realm of busy when Dawson started school. Suddenly I had a lunch to pack and 3 boys to get out the door in the morning. To help make lunch packing quicker I have started taking 15 minutes each week to fill a snack bin. I take snack size ziplock bags, add snacks (ie. crackers, popcorn, raisins, cookies), and place them in our snack bin the pantry. Then they are ready to throw in Dawson's lunch bag in the morning or in my purse for the other boys. Jen over at I Heart Organizing had a similar idea! ( I love her website by the way).
Another idea I came up with stemmed from a trip to Costco where I had found prepacked individual sized smoothies. I thought this was great idea, but a little on the pricey side, so I decided to make my own. The most tedious process is cutting up the fruit, after that it's pretty easy. Here's how we did it:

Cornbread Topped Chili in a Jar
Is anyone else addicted to the site Pinterest? I am on it almost everyday checking out new recipes, decorating ideas and fun activities to do with the kids. Here is a recipe I made for supper the other night. It was a fun twist on chili (which is a staple in our house). The boys loved the novelty of eating out of jars. Just make sure that you allow time for the jars to cool, because they are really hot for little fingers.
Here is the link to the recipe:

Winter Hightlights
Spring has arrived and so before I'm really behind here a few highlights from this past winter.....
Baby becomes a boy with his first hair cut. He shocked us by not even shedding a tear.
Rocket ship building project for school
Watching daddy play hockey
A chance to sit on the zamboni (almost as fun as watching daddy play)
Basement hockey time
Dawson took skating lessons this winter. He had a great time putting his new found skills to use on the outdoor rink with daddy.
Hooray for a full set of hockey equipment (minus helmet, stick and skates) for $30 at the second hand store! They will definitely be put to use at our house.

Conversation Overheard....
Dawson: "Let's play, I'm going to be Cooper"
Cooper: "No you can't be Cooper, I'm Cooper and I'm precious!"
Yes you are Cooper!

In 20 Minutes....
One afternoon, our littlest monkey was feeling especially mischievous, so I decided to follow him around for 20 minutes and snap some photos.
