Beans In Your Ears!

Today, I was reminded of a song from my childhood called "Beans In Your Ears" by Sharon, Lois, and Bram(The Elephant Show)! This solid foods thing can be messy business!

Dropped off the face of the earth?

I know, I know, it seems like forever since I've blogged, man has time flown by! Things have been a little crazy the last few weeks. I am just waiting for some pics to be emailed (thankfully Auntie B always has her camera) and then I will post Dawson's first trip to Petland, such a fun experience! So until then, here is a picture I got off Facebook of Dawson and his girlfriends. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of girl #4 to our circle, should be any day now!

6 Months Old!

It's amazing how much can change in only 6 months. Our once laid back, reserved little boy has turned into a super active little go-getter!Around 2 weeks old
6 months and 1 week old
Here are some of the things that Dawson has accomplished in the last month:
Weight: 15lbs, 12oz
Height: 26 1/2"
String Bean: The health nurse said he is in the 75% for height and the 25th% for weight
New Tricks:
-Sitting (he will only do it once and a while, oddly enough it's often when he is around his little girlfriends, what a show off)
-Standing (he can now stand with out the help of mom or dad for a few short seconds, as long as he has something to lean against)
Trying to Learn: He is trying to learn to crawl. We will often catch him lying on his tummy with his bum in the air trying his darnedest to push himself forward, he just has to figure out how to get the arms part working and he'll be gone.
Yum, Yum: He has started solid foods, so far he has tried rice cereal, barley cereal, carrots, apples, sweet potatoes, and peas. His favorite seems to be apples.
He prefers: Sleeping on his tummy, no matter how many times we turn him onto his back, over he goes. It's actually not uncommon to put him to sleep in one end of his crib and wake up to find him on the opposite end.
Major Show Off: He loves being the center of attention and does not play shy. He will take any opportunity to show off his new tricks.
His newest trick

Nice Wheels!

This week we have been lucky enough to see Great Grandpa and Grandma Rachar everyday. Unfortunately it's because Grandpa is in the hospital here for some tests this week. This shot was taken after Grandpa had finished dialysis and we were taking him back to his room. Grandpa thought it looked rather amusing the oldest and the youngest family members being wheeled around together. We were going to race, but we weren't sure how the nurses would feel about that!

Cute Shot!

I just love this picture. I think he looks so grown up.

Happy Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was a really special one! My heart just melted when Dawson came into the bedroom Sunday morning holding my gift in his hands, grinning from ear to ear! Sunday was also a special day because it was Dawson's Baby Dedication at Church. After the dedication we had a potluck out at Dave's parents for all of the family that had come.

Dawson desperately needing a nap after such a long morning. Auntie Becky must have the touch, because moments later he was sound asleep.

Another Road Trip

This past Tuesday we made our second road trip to BC in a month, this time unfortunately it was to attend a funeral. Not a fun reason for a trip but we did have a great time with family. The Andrus Men

The Stay At Home Mom's Club

These lovely ladies pictured below are one of the biggest reasons why being on maternity leave has been so much fun! What started as a small group from our church (husbands included) has now become a Stay At Home Mom's Club! We often get together weekly and the activities may include going for lunch, taking the babies swimming or just hanging out at someones house. Our group has 5 couples and 4 babies that were all born in the same year!(one more is due to arrive any day now). This past Sunday evening we all got together for a potluck, husbands included!
