Home Sweet Home

Well, we arrived safe and sound from our whirlwind trip to Ontario late, late last night. We had a great time seeing the sights and visiting with family, but were also really glad to be on our way home yesterday! Dawson did really well for the most part on the plane, he would actually start laughing when the plane would take off, he loves speed already, yikes! The way there, was a breeze, the way home had it's challenges though.

Yesterday we arrived in London, On at about 3:00pm to catch our flight home. We boarded our plane, bound for Winnipeg, and then nothing happened. Word from the captain was that there was a minor maintenance issue that they were dealing with and we would be on our way soon. We waited on the plane for at least a half hour with no news, we were sweating because we had just under an hour upon arrival in Winnipeg to catch our next flight to Calgary! The captain then announced that the minor maintenance problem was in fact major and we were asked to de-board the plane, pick up our luggage at the terminal, and rebook our flight. Thankfully Air Canada was able to get us on a flight to Toronto less than an hour later and then from there we were on to Calgary. The plane ride from Toronto to Calgary was very turbulent and Dawson was pretty out of sorts, it was in fact hours after his bedtime and he was so overtired. Needless to say, we made it to Calgary at about 11:00pm(1:00am Ontario time) only to find that we were short one piece of luggage. This was our biggest piece of luggage, containing all of our clothing, ahhh! So far our personal belongings are somewhere between here and London! And for now we are short clothing, hairdryer, makeup(I was especially horrified about that one), contacts, glasses, a baby monitor and lots more!

So that was our little adventure. I am just thankful that it happened on the way home and not in Ontario. On another positive note, I had planned to spend the day doing laundry and now I can just relax because there are no clothes to wash anyways! I will post some pictures of our trip soon!

Karalee,

Try flying WestJet next time. We fly WestJet exclusively when we go out to Ontario to visit my in-laws and have had no problems with luggage or anything else other than a short wait to get our stroller back as it was probably packed in first. Another bonus of WestJet is the direct flights. We try to avoid having to stop over if possible.
